Overview
OneSight commissioned a countrywide survey applying their 3A framework — a structured approach to measuring barriers preventing access to vision care. 2M Corp developed the sampling frame for representative coverage across districts, adapted the questionnaire to the Gambian context, and obtained all ethical clearances.
Field operations included recruitment and training of local surveyors, household surveys across identified districts, continuous liaison with the OneSight team, and comprehensive data management and preliminary analysis.
The final deliverables included an inception report, draft survey report with preliminary findings, and a final report with actionable insights for programme design across the awareness, accessibility, and affordability dimensions.
Impact
The survey provided OneSight's first comprehensive assessment of eye care gaps in The Gambia, enabling targeted identification of barriers to vision care and informing the design of interventions to address them.
